Career Overview

After graduating in 2010 from the University of California-Santa Barbara, where he set the school record for the Gauchos in the 10,000m and was the Big West Conference champion in the 1,500m and 5,000m, Scott Smith joined the McMillan Elite training group based in Flagstaff, AZ. Since then, Smith has been a consistent performer on the USA Championship circuit with a number of top 10 finishes, including three ninth place showings at the 2011 15K, 8K and 10 Mile championships.

On the track, Smith competed in the 2011 Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, placing fifth in the indoor 3,000m and 10th in the outdoor 10,000m.

The Aramco Houston Half Marathon will be Smith’s 13.1-mile debut.
